Las Bambas

Las Bambas is considered one of the most important copper mining projects in the world.

 

 

Project Description:

 

Located in more than 4,000 meters above sea level, between the provinces of Cotabambas and Grau, Apurimac Region, 72 km southwest of the city of Cusco. The project was delivered on time and at the established cost. It demanded the effort of 17 million Man Hours and the participation of 3,800 employees at the peak of the project. Most of the mining complex; including the concentrator plant, it was successfully completed in 2015 and in November of the same year it obtained the first material concentrate. The project capacity is 400,000 t / y of copper.
